I'm so done
With our very busy school schedules, we (I) decided to make a few changes at our house. Priorities needed to be set.
And quite honestly I'm just sick of her:
I actually don't mind her music. She is not super talented. But she has a couple cute little songs that are OK for the pre-teen scene. At least she is not dressed in black singing about death or the "S" word. With that being said, I can't stand her show. And I really can't stand the way it makes little girls act. Specifically Aliza. I think that what really pushed me over the edge was on Sunday on our 20 minute trek to church we were talking about how brothers and sisters are important and should treat each other kindly, not mean. Aliza chirped in with "all brothers and sisters fight." I said, no they don't have to all fight. And she said, "All the ones on TV do."
Well, all the kids on TV act obnoxious and over the top trashy, too. Zack and Cody are just about stupid. And there has to be better things to do with our time than waste it watching all this junk! And they teach the kids distorted things about body image, appropriate behavior, and what to wear.
Other banned shows? "Drake and Josh." The spin off with their little obnoxious sister. And "That's so Raven." Basically everything on the Disney Channel.The TV is OFF during the week. They can occasionally earn a half hour here and there, but of something other than Disney.
Two days down and we haven't even missed it.
Maybe the media room will stay clean now!
