Decisions, decisions, decisions...
It's a tank. There is a reason they use them in the military. It also convinced me that when you are behind the wheel of one, you have a huge responsibility because of the damage you could do if you were the one doing the hitting.
(Those aren't even scratches, they rubbed right off.)
Tyler plays on Thursday nights now, and he got to be involved in the coin toss again.
He is getting so tall. He can almost look me straight in the eye, and I am not short. It is funny to me to see him in comparison to others out on the field. (he's 83).
Team Captain
That is Tyler tackling the boy with the ball.
We lost 14-8...the game ended while we were 1 yard from what could have been the winning touchdown. Oh well, there's always next week!
Evil plot...waaaahahahahaha
{tales of the 7th grade...}
So here is the football game report. It came from Maris, who is, as we all know, completely unbiased when it comes to our children's athletic prowess. So, take it as you will, this is how he said it went down.(the bus that Tyler rode to Bridgeport.)
So, the White team played first. It was a scrimmage and they didn't play it like a game. Each team got to run through 15 offensive plays, while the other team did defense. They didn't keep score, but they did get touchdowns. Then they started the clock and ran through one quarter. (Bridgeport didn't score against us, but we scored against them, so if we had been keeping score, we would've won...) Then it was the Green team's turn, they did the same thing. Tyler starts on defense as a linebacker. Bridgeport, in the last play had intercepted the ball and taken possession. It was 2nd down, Bridgeport's quarterback (who Maris said could fire the ball really well) throws the ball. Tyler turns, puts up his big old hands high in the air and snags it for an interception, brings the ball down and is tackled...but we regained possession. Maris was very proud. Tyler was happy. The coaches were excited. And the crowd went wild.
Still no jerseys with numbers. It was a practice game so they wore practice jerseys.
Meet the Eagles...
They haven't assigned them permanent numbers yet, they just gave them jerseys to wear tonight at the rally and they turned them back in. They will get their real jerseys and numbers tomorrow. Tyler is hoping for #44. We'll see!
K, so I know that I am totally his mom, but I sure think that he is dang cute. One of the signs said "Our football players are HOT!" So funny! I don't know if he is "HOT" but he is a cutie!
First Day of School
Just Yesterday
And THEN, suddenly, he was big.
Last week, he went to the brand new middle school.
He walked around with his friends. He got his new, grown-up school schedule. He has classes like Pre-AP Math, English, Reading and Science. He has Broadcast Journalism. He has an athletics class with a locker and a PE outfit and weights to lift.
The people at the school gave me papers to sign. And he got to sign them too. Permission to search his locker if they want to. Permission to test him for steroids.
He went to a middle school activity where he hung out with his friends. They laughed and played and talked.
Tomorrow is his first day of 7th grade.
And he will keep growing and learning, and being good.
And he will always be my baby boy.
On his own Merit...
Good Job, T!
Soooo, Whatcha Doin'??
(I'm sure she will soon be flying through the air with the greatest of ease.)I, of course, am fully immersed in PTO activities. Anyone want to help make popcorn at the school's movie on Thursday night?
(notice how happy all those people look. none of them must be the PTO president.)
And our whole family is watching the Olympics, all day, every day.

And can I just say, wow, Michael Phelps. Four golds, 4 to go!
And how about the men's gymnastics team!
I love the Olympics. Are y'all watching? What is your favorite event?
And did I mention that I finished Breaking Dawn?
I liked it and I am happy with the way it ended. She left it open that there could be another book, but all my loose ends were tied.
