Highlights
Yesterday I took Tyler to the Dr. to get his physical for Scout Camp and Football. It was kinda fun to sit there with my big (little) boy and reminisce. We were in the pediatric side in a room with jungle animals all over the walls and a monkey hanging from the ceiling. We talked about when he was little and that he would have loved this room because of the tigers and monkeys. He had his vision checked (20/20) didn't get that from me! And he was measured (5' 6") and weighed (118 lbs). He is in the 97th percentile in height and 89th in weight. When he did his physical fitness test at school in March he was only 5' 4", so he has gained another 2 inches in 3 months. WOW! He is such a fun kid and it is definitely fun to be is mom. It is so rewarding to have such a neat kid, who knows what is right and behaves accordingly. He is so well-rounded and grounded. I love to talk to him. You can have an actual conversation. Growing up is such a bittersweet thing.
Twilight Camp: last night we started to build the go-cart, went to the Nature station and made bug cages, did relay games, and (Parker's favorite) archery. It started out HOT and Sticky, but a cool breeze came up and cooled us down. Best parts~our den won the gold medal spirit award for the day!!!, watching the fireflies (lightening bugs) in the grass and trees while walking back to the car, (I love these bugs, they are beautiful!), watching Parker make new friends and interact with all the boys (he is such a natural leader. Either that or he is bossy, but either way, kids flock to him), going to Sonic with the 3rd ward boys after to celebrate, and driving back home with Parker and having him turn down the radio and say, "Thank you Mom, I love you."
Aliza has been such a trooper this week while we have been so busy with Tyler's baseball camp and Parker's Twilight camp. The (free) drama camp I wanted to put her in was full except when we will be gone in July. I am trying to think of something special to do with her so she doesn't get the shaft. She has stopped arguing when I say it's time to read each day. She has learned that she can read faster silently, but understands better if she reads to herself out loud. Practice makes perfect. I know she will probably never love reading, but at least she is good at it! She has gotten to go to friends houses while I go to TC a couple of nights, so that has been fun for her!

I remember how hot and humid it felt and how grateful I was that I was too late to be a parent volunteer. I told Noelle that I would help if they needed, and she said that they were taken care of, they would get me next year. And boy, did they! It is no secret that I am an indoor girl, but for this kid, I'll spend 5 nights this week from 4-9 pm out in the great outdoors, wearing sunscreen and
