Last night Maris found an itsy bitsy teeny tiny baby rat snake in our backyard.
It was up by our back porch.
This is not the snake.
I was a little too freaked out to take a picture.
I made him squish it and throw it over the fence.
After he threw it, I thought, I should've taken a picture.
I'm not too scared of a baby rat snake.
And a momma.

Remember when I blogged about how weird it is that people park their cars on the side of the road an 380 and try to get rid of their dogs?
So when the sign said "Miniature Schnauzers" and the guy was trying to get rid of his non-papered mini-schnauzers, and we pulled over to take a look, does that make us crazy or stupid?

Taking a break from vay-cay pictures to be tagged...
Jessica and Rene both tagged me and they are obviously new to blogging because all the rest of you know that I am horrible at responding to tags. But since they didn't know that I am going to do it....

1- Listening to my kids talk to each other, and hear them be friends. It gives me hope that they will still like each other when they are big.

I will agree with Jessica on all three of these fears. I'm sure I could find more things to be afraid of, but these are pretty good ones!

1- Read more...(good books)
2- I have some crafty things I want to do...I'm going to knit a hat today!
3-Scrap old pics and learn to digi scrap the last couple of years!

1- Scrapbook paper.
2- Laundry (always).
3- Getting organized enough that PTO is not a nightmare this year.

SURPRISING FACTS ABOUT ME
1- There is nothing surprising about me. What you see is what you get.
2- I don't like gossip. It makes me feel yucky. That's not to say that I haven't ever or ever will...but I prefer to avoid it. Friends should have other things to talk about than other people.
3- This is not new, but still surprises people...I love to do laundry. I currently like Tide Clean Breeze.

{moving on}
Before I talk more about our trip, here is a little about what is going on here:
It is very hot.
I got my hair cut and colored! YAY!
Both of the boys got haircuts! Double yay!!
Maris took ALL of Tuesday off and was able to spend the whole day with the kids.
The boys are LOVING football camp.
We have made it to the pool two times this week so far. I love having a neighborhood pool.
Liza used her own money to buy her baby doll 4 preemie outfits on clearance at Wal*Mart. It is cheaper to buy real baby clothes than doll clothes!! All 4 outfits were only $12.00.
Maris took really good care of the hanging plants on the porch while I was gone:
NOT.
I was really happy to get to go to the temple in Rexburg twice while I was in Idaho. The first time was with my SIL Becky, who lives in Turkey and the closest temple is in Germany, and with Noelle, and the second time I got to go with my mom.
We loved going over to the Bar J with G'ma and Papa, Rick, Becky and PJ, and the McFarland's.
Tyler really got quite attached to his little cousin. He loved to hold her and had such a great time playing with her. I think she kinda liked him too. 
Before the show, we ate biscuits and honey, played around a little outside,
goofed around, a little,
and played card games.
The decor was awesome.
The food was yummy. Mmmmm. Steak.
And the entertainment was hilarious...
Even PJ loved it!
Rick and Becky had to leave the next morning. Tyler spent the morning playing with and cuddling PJ. He loved that she fell asleep in his arms.
And yet another goodbye.
It is hard to believe that next time we see her, she will be 2 1/2. She won't even remember us! I am so glad that we were able to be there while Rick and Becky were here.{on to more pleasant things...} Snow King and Jackson
On the Monday after the 4th, (yes, we are going way back here) Noelle and I took the kids "over the hill" to Jackson Hole, Wyoming for an entire day of fun and excitement!
We started at Snow King Resort, where we got an all day deal that included the Alpine Slide...
...a round of miniature golf (which with 6 kids is kindof a fiasco...no one wanted to keep score and everyone forgot how to count, because they all managed to finish all 18 holes in under 30 strokes. Noelle and I both ended up giving our balls to the kids who over hit theirs. It was fun, but probably my least favorite activity of the day!)
There was the Lift Ride to the top of Snow King (up to something like 8500 feet, straight up, and not just a little scary for this scared-of-heights person), the top of which offered picnic areas, hiking trails, bathrooms and INCREDIBLE views!
The ride down was a lot better. 
In downtown Jackson, we couldn't pass up a photo op by the antler arches on the square. The kids were THRILLED to pose for yet another picture.
And then, like any good mother would, we took the kids to get candy...
...and ice cream.
And I don't know why, but suddenly our camera shy children wanted to pose for us:
We succeeded in wearing them out, at least for the day.
