Whew, almost done! Final Post today!

And, finally, today was Grandparents and Special Friends day at the elementary school! When I told my mom that I was going over there for it, she asked me why I didn't tell her about it, and I told her because I knew that she would have flown down, and she is so busy right now that she couldn't have stayed. And I am selfish, if she's comin' all the way down here, she's gonna stay and shop. I don't want her flying in for school lunch and then leaving!! Besides, Aliza and Parker were content with me being their special friend.
Parker took a picture of me and Aliza....
And then Aliza took a picture of me and Parker!
(Do I look like I got up at 5 am and spent 4 hours driving to the airport, waiting for the plane to take off and driving back? I felt like it!!)
Here is Aliza standing by her self-portrait that they made in art. Not all of them got displayed in the special display case! She was very proud of this!!
K, is this not cute? What do you think, Janette, does she have a future??
And here is Parker by his Conquistador (Hernando de Soto.) Yes, that is a knife in his neck. I am so proud.
By the way, I talked to Mrs. Fritchman who is coaching his Oral Reading Team, and she is very excited about his potential! She said he is "very advanced" and that he has potential to get some great scholarships in the future! You go, kid!
I also talked to Tyler's teacher and she said that Tyler is such a neat kid and he is the "whole package." Well, I think so, but is always fun to hear someone else agree with you!

I love that self portrait and I love that it looks totally different from everyone else's...Aliza is one very cool little artist indeed!

You are such a great mommy Andrea-such a great example to me!

Aliza is definitely not afraid of being different! I love that she is self-confident and doesn't feel like she always has to be the same as everyone else to fit in!!

Fun day, Andrea. I once got to go to Grandparents (and special friends) day at school in Kentucky with my darling 8-year-old neighbor. Her grandparents lived far away, too. Kids love to have someone to show all their stuff off to!

"I am one of [Jesus Christ's] witnesses, and in a coming day I shall feel the nail marks in his hands and in his feet and shall wet his feet with my tears. But I shall not know any better then than I know now that he is God's Almighty Son, that he is our Savior and Redeemer, and that salvation comes in and through his atoning blood and in no other way."--Bruce R. "...we must be careful, as we seek to become more and more godlike, that we do not become discouraged and lose hope. Becoming Christlike is a lifetime pursuit and very often involves growth and change that is slow, almost imperceptible. The scriptures record remarkable accounts of men whose lives changed dramatically, in an instant... But we must be cautious as we discuss these remarkable examples. Though they are real and powerful, they are the exception more than the rule. For every Paul, for every Enos, and for every King Lamoni, there are hundreds and thousands of people who find the process of repentance much more subtle, much more imperceptible. Day by day they move closer to the Lord, little realizing they are building a godlike life. They live quiet lives of goodness, service, and commitment. They are like the Lamanites, who the Lord said "were baptized with fire and with the Holy Ghost, and theyknew it not." (3 Ne. 9:20; italics added.)"--Ezra Taft Benson, "A Mighty Changeof Heart"
