....Sucked....in.....

...can't...get...out...

I tried not to.

I didn't go to Barnes and Noble at 2 am to buy the book and get tickets to the book signing and lecture (Stephenie Meyer was here in Frisco last Saturday).

I walked past it in Wal*Mart without putting it in my cart several times.

I read the back cover and tried to say that I didn't really want to read it.

Then Maris asked me what I wanted for Mother's Day.

The Host.

Now I have to finish it.

I totally got sucked in! I hope it's a good read.

I'll have to watch for it here, or go online.

It's good? I had no intention of reading it ... isn't it about aliens? Then again, I can't believe I read books about vampires.

Her website says that it is "science fiction for people who don't like science fiction." and also that it is a "love story at it's core." I really like it so far. I am going to hurry and shower and get my housework done so I can read...

'Hurry and shower' ... what's that?

I saw this book in the grocery store tonight...It caught my attention because of the cover. This is going to sound like a dumb question but, Is she the writer of Twilight"

Nae May 17, 2008 at 6:45 PM

I'm half-way through and am really enjoying it. It hasn't kept me up into the wee hours like Twilight, but I still get excited to read it each night, which I'm actually grateful for. I need my sleep!

"I am one of [Jesus Christ's] witnesses, and in a coming day I shall feel the nail marks in his hands and in his feet and shall wet his feet with my tears. But I shall not know any better then than I know now that he is God's Almighty Son, that he is our Savior and Redeemer, and that salvation comes in and through his atoning blood and in no other way."--Bruce R. McConkie, "The Purifying Power of Gethsemane"

"...we must be careful, as we seek to become more and more godlike, that we do not become discouraged and lose hope. Becoming Christlike is a lifetime pursuit and very often involves growth and change that is slow, almost imperceptible. The scriptures record remarkable accounts of men whose lives changed dramatically, in an instant... But we must be cautious as we discuss these remarkable examples. Though they are real and powerful, they are the exception more than the rule. For every Paul, for every Enos, and for every King Lamoni, there are hundreds and thousands of people who find the process of repentance much more subtle, much more imperceptible. Day by day they move closer to the Lord, little realizing they are building a godlike life. They live quiet lives of goodness, service, and commitment. They are like the Lamanites, who the Lord said "were baptized with fire and with the Holy Ghost, and theyknew it not." (3 Ne. 9:20; italics added.)"--Ezra Taft Benson, "A Mighty Changeof Heart"
