Soooo, Whatcha Doin'??

Less than two weeks until school starts...wow. In some ways I am not ready and I do not want the kids to go back. However, for the sake of my sanity, I am ready to get back on a schedule. We've stayed busy all summer long, and we are starting to run out of fun things to do...

So here is what we have been up to:

The dogs found a nice place to dig. Yay.

Which meant that Maris got to spend his day off preventing a prisoner breakout:
(now we have the beginnings of a rock path...thanks for the rocks, Nancy.)
Let's see them try to dig THAT up.

I'm sure they will try.

Parker started Football practice tonight at 6 pm...Go Panthers!

Which means Aliza started cheerleading practice tonight at 6:15. She is going to be a cheerleader for Parker's team. Yay again.(I'm sure she will soon be flying through the air with the greatest of ease.)

Am I the only one who thinks that cheerleading is out of control here?
Tyler's All-star team had their party tonight too. At 6:30. I love how it was synchronized so I had to have a child somewhere every 15 minutes. Tonight Maris was home, so that made it all that much easier.

I, of course, am fully immersed in PTO activities. Anyone want to help make popcorn at the school's movie on Thursday night?

(notice how happy all those people look. none of them must be the PTO president.)

And our whole family is watching the Olympics, all day, every day.

And can I just say, wow, Michael Phelps. Four golds, 4 to go!

And how about the men's gymnastics team!

I love the Olympics. Are y'all watching? What is your favorite event?

And did I mention that I finished Breaking Dawn? I liked it and I am happy with the way it ended. She left it open that there could be another book, but all my loose ends were tied.

I am going to finish the book this weekend - really I am.

I am still on the 1st book. One chapter a night (if I'm lucky) Yes, I am such a fast reader!

Well, since I am your VT Andrea, is there anything that I can do for you? How about a night out at the Cheesecake Factory? :o)

One question. Was the title a reference to Phineas and Ferb? :)

The McFarland's are just about ready for school. It usually comes on quickly. We're enjoying summer and BAM, we (or I) decide it's time. I'm there. It happened this past weekend. Other than the cheerleading (because that would be scary to see Harrison in a cheerleading skirt!), our schedule sounds about the same. Baseball, PTA, Olympics (it's about the only TV I've watched all summer), and getting ready for school. 2 more weeks. We're ready!

I don't know how you do all that running around sans husband. It takes it out of me. Truly it does. I guess you just get used to it.

I, too , have mixed emotions about the start of school. It is always bittersweet.

We did our Popcorn prep for meet the Principal on Monday. Do you know our Prez, Maria? Holy smokes that is an amazing lady. She really has her ducks in a row. I am the Historian. Woo Hoo. There's a TOUGH job. Honestly, ez as it is, I don't think I could take on anymore than that right now. My balls in the air have reached their quota. :O)

Um ... Breaking Dawn ... can we talk? I think this is day 6 for me ... and I still have over 200 pages left. It's been sort of hard for me to get into. I feel like the only one though.

Nancy is your V-T....huummmm....something is rigged around here!!!!!

Anonymous,  August 14, 2008 at 12:09 PM

Amanda, believe me there was no rigging. It just proves that HF has a sense of humor. :o)

Kendra,  August 17, 2008 at 9:40 PM

Andrea, I love that you loved breaking dawn too. It was a perfect ending for me, the whole way through the book.

"...we must be careful, as we seek to become more and more godlike, that we do not become discouraged and lose hope. Becoming Christlike is a lifetime pursuit and very often involves growth and change that is slow, almost imperceptible. The scriptures record remarkable accounts of men whose lives changed dramatically, in an instant... But we must be cautious as we discuss these remarkable examples. Though they are real and powerful, they are the exception more than the rule. For every Paul, for every Enos, and for every King Lamoni, there are hundreds and thousands of people who find the process of repentance much more subtle, much more imperceptible. Day by day they move closer to the Lord, little realizing they are building a godlike life. They live quiet lives of goodness, service, and commitment. They are like the Lamanites, who the Lord said "were baptized with fire and with the Holy Ghost, and theyknew it not." (3 Ne. 9:20; italics added.)"--Ezra Taft Benson, "A Mighty Changeof Heart"
