Mother Nature

What's a Texas blog doing without some mention of the weather??  Here is a bit of what we've been doing here:
March 21st...record snowfall:

The trees were already very leaf-y...

Last Monday we were treated to a beautiful FULL, double rainbow...I wish I had a wide lens to have captured the entire thing:

On Mother's Day, I went out on the front porch to check my hanging plants to see if they needed to be watered...I put my fingers up into the dirt, and accidentally smashed an egg.  I wish I'd known it was there!!
At least there are 5 left.  I specifically removed the straw lining of my hangers this year to prevent the birds from nesting in the plants this year.  I guess it didn't work.  I hope that my geraniums survive...

I felt bad for the poor mama who returned to find one of her eggs broken.  Hopefully they will hurry and hatch and relocate...

And that's what's happening in our neck of the woods....

Loved the pics. I went from a chill to a nice warm spring feeling with the beautiful flowers.

Wow about all of this - crazy weather. I would have freaked out if I put my finger through an egg. Makes me re-think my hanging baskets.

"I am one of [Jesus Christ's] witnesses, and in a coming day I shall feel the nail marks in his hands and in his feet and shall wet his feet with my tears. But I shall not know any better then than I know now that he is God's Almighty Son, that he is our Savior and Redeemer, and that salvation comes in and through his atoning blood and in no other way."--Bruce R. McConkie, "The Purifying Power of Gethsemane"

"...we must be careful, as we seek to become more and more godlike, that we do not become discouraged and lose hope. Becoming Christlike is a lifetime pursuit and very often involves growth and change that is slow, almost imperceptible. The scriptures record remarkable accounts of men whose lives changed dramatically, in an instant... But we must be cautious as we discuss these remarkable examples. Though they are real and powerful, they are the exception more than the rule. For every Paul, for every Enos, and for every King Lamoni, there are hundreds and thousands of people who find the process of repentance much more subtle, much more imperceptible. Day by day they move closer to the Lord, little realizing they are building a godlike life. They live quiet lives of goodness, service, and commitment. They are like the Lamanites, who the Lord said "were baptized with fire and with the Holy Ghost, and theyknew it not." (3 Ne. 9:20; italics added.)"--Ezra Taft Benson, "A Mighty Changeof Heart"
