Snow...!!!
Today was one of those days that Texas kids dreams are made of.
For days the weatherman has been announcing the arctic blast heading our direction.
Sometimes we tend to ignore all the hype, because there are usually 2 or 3 times a month that "snow" is in the 10-day forecast but we end up with weather in the 40's instead.
So forgive us if the "arctic blast" talk was balked at.
Last night Aliza ran downstairs and exclaimed that it was snowing...no Liza, that's rain.
We awoke this morning to more of the same, rain. Not even freezing rain, just rain.
But within a few hours the newscasters were showing us pictures of the impending snowstorm moving across Texas and headed straight for us. Should be to McKinney by noon...
Halfway through Sacrament meeting someone whispered, "It's snowing."
When the meeting was over and were excused to classes, we walked out to the foyer and witnessed it.
A Winter Wonderland, in our parking lot.
It wasn't long before our bishop asked the Teachers Quorum to clean the snow off the walks.
With what?
They used the fiberglass serving trays from the kitchen.
Half way through Sunday School, we got the news that all the children had been waiting for...
the roads were getting bad, so we were going to end church early so that everyone could get home safely.
It takes the kids roughly 1 1/2 hours to get all they want from a snowstorm...
...but they enjoyed it!
Parker and Tyler each took a snow shovel (we have the only 2 in the neighborhood) and shoveled some walks. Oddly, ours didn't get finished...
Aliza ran to the "hill" and played...
And no storm is complete without a snowman!!
Yes, that's grass on it's head. For hair.
Yes, it's green.
I took a picture of the side of the snowman, rather than the front, because remember the rain from earlier?
I don't like slush.
I don't even like snow.
Unless it's gone by noon tomorrow.
Which it will be.

I love the new look of the blog. It's fun to see you blogging again. I can't believe you got snow! That is so fun:)
You get more snow than we do. It snowed here, but not that much. I also forgot my camera today. We took PJ down a small hill to practice her skiing. When she made it all the way down it was great, but if she fell it was horrible. She's just a little dramatic, but she did pretty good for her first time.
SNOW!?! It's been a crazy winter. We finally have snow here, too. And the fun inversion. Love the look of your new blog.
great pics! :)
