Where in the world is Matt Lauer?

This morning was day 1 of the latest edition of "Where in the world is Matt Lauer?"

(He was in Argentina, in case you are not as into Matt as I am.)

(And it is not an obsession. I just think he is cute.)

Look at what a good dad he is.

Here he is last year, or maybe the year before, in Dubai.

Well, Matt, when you start running out of exotic places to visit, I have a suggestion.

McKinney/Prosper, Texas.

Why not? What does Argentina have that we don't have? We have farms, we have gauchos (cowboys), we have stuff to do.

About McKinney:

McKinney is a city in and the county seat of Collin County, Texas, United States, and the second in population to Plano.

The US Census Bureau listed McKinney as the nation's fastest growing city from 2000 to 2003 and again in 2006, among cities with more than 50,000 people. (Now there's an interesting fact!! In the nation even!) This growth is due to McKinney being located at the northeastern edge of the rapid suburban development north of Dallas.

Both the city and county were named after Collin McKinney, a signer of the Texas Declaration of Independence, and a congressman for the Red River district of the Republic of Texas.

About Prosper:

Prosper was a small rural town on Preston Road (SH 289) in North Texas about 6 mi (9 km) north of Frisco, Texas but in recent years – true to its name – it has prospered.

Like its neighboring town, Celina about 4 mi (6 km) to the north, Prosper is growing quickly in terms of new home building (houses in the $200,000 to $1,500,000 range). In addition to a long-time retail filling station, in 2004 Prosper saw its second and 3rd retail establishments arrive: a Sonic restaurant, and an Exxon "On The Run" station. (And just recently they have opened a CVS.)

Well-known residents include LeAnn Rimes as well as current Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim outfielder Torii Hunter and former Dallas Cowboys football player Deion Sanders who own large parcels of land. Many residents are professionals who commute to McKinney, Frisco, Plano, Dallas and neighboring communities.
