Thinking about Christmas cards...
One thing that I love doing every year is sending out Christmas cards. I LOVE receiving cards, too! :) So, usually earlier than this, I start making plans to take the kids somewhere and take pictures for the cards...this year I had planned on getting a family picture taken by a local photographer who lives by one of my friends and would take the pictures for free and sell the disc with the proofs on it for pretty cheap. This was planned for this Saturday morning. Then two weeks ago I find out that Aliza has a dance recital that afternoon which does not interfere with the pictures technically but the dance studio insists on their hair being curly. Puffy, big hair curly. I told the dance teacher that Aliza's thick, course hair does not DO curly very well. She said that a little dippity-do and sponge curlers over night will make any one's hair curly. Well, OK. Problem is, I don't want her hair to look like that for a family Christmas picture. So, I thought I'd just figure out a way to make her hair curly after 10 am. Then Tyler comes home from church on Sunday with info about the next scout camp out, at Ray Roberts Lake, this Friday night. The universe has ganged up on me and I cancelled the family picture...I figure 2 strikes against you is just tempting fate. Which is fine, but now I have to take the kids out and find some place cool to get some pictures taken of them. So, local Texas friends, any suggestions? I want it to be somewhere that makes everyone who doesn't live here green with envy...:) (I apologize to all y'all who don't live here who just got offended by that. But we can't all live where you do!) I have also been practicing on Photoshop, because I am going to design our own card this year. I hope it all works out.
For those of you who don't want to design your own card but want something that is awesome and on sale, Heidi is having a blogger's sale on her darling cards. Go look at her blog to get the 50% off code and then go to her website and pick out which darling design you want and order it. But hurry, her sale ends on Sunday night at midnight!

The Botanical Gardens,(dallas arboretum) in dallas is BEAUTIFUL. I am not sure what it looks like in the fall/winter, but we were there in April and it was amazing. There is amazing architectue and neat buildings. I love that place.
Janie takes awesome pictures!!! She did some of Claire this summer that were amazing. They were at these cool little parks in University Park. It was beautiful.
Ditto to Sarah. I had my bridals taken in a little park down in the University Park / Turtle Creek area ... all those little parks are gorgeous.
Texas has awesome parks...they do a great job at that!
