Fall "Break"
Our schools have this whole week off of school. They call it "Fall Break." Who is getting the break? Yesterday I think I used 6 gallons of gas...we started off at 9 am at the dentist (for anyone looking, we go to Dr. Shobe at Eagle Point Dental over south of WalMart. We love him and his office staff is great!) Tyler had his bi-yearly cleaning and his monthly braces adjustment. Came back home, got a little cleaning done (very little, but I started the laundry, which always brings me peace...) and then took Parker over to the middle school to "shoot some hoops" with some boys from his basketball team. Came back home, more cleaning, then picked up Tyler's friend who is on the RMS B-ball team with him, ran Aliza over to the dentist for her cleaning, went to the MS to pickup Parker, took him to the dentist. Took Tyler and Ben back over to the MS to get ready to get on the bus and go to Celina. Back to the dentist to pick up Liza and Parker. Only one cavity in one child, and it is a refill from a cavity that got pulled out (too much sticky candy?). I'll be enjoying that appointment today. Back home to fix dinner...fast and easy Tacos. Get back in the car and head to Celina Middle School to watch some basketball. (We won 40-something to 12.) Back home, showers, bed...Whew! Today for my "break" I am going to go grocery shopping.

I guess I've stalled as long as I should, the washing machine just beeped at me and if I don't hurry I won't get the grocery shopping done before the dentist's appointment!

I loved it.
I hated it.

Not sure it was supposed to be a comedy, but there was a whole lotta laughing going on.
Overall: Some parts were very well done and some were very cheesy. I still can't make that Pattinson guy be Edward. I just can't. Bella's bedroom was perfect. Edward's house was not. I liked the baseball game. Some parts were too drawn out and some parts were not given enough attention. I just think that there will never be a movie that lives up to my imagination and the images in my mind that were already there.
The best part? The company. We took up a whole row. I got pictures of my end of the row, but wish I'd have gotten some of the other end. Next time we should take up 1/2 of two rows. For the next Twilight movie...
But other than that....

I can't find my calendar.I don't know what I am doing today.

one last football post...
After the first 2 or 3 games, all the football pictures start looking the same, so I stop taking them. I mean really, what are you going to do with 500 pictures of football? But I did get a couple pictures of Parker's last game on Saturday. I honestly went into the game just hoping we wouldn't get killed. And that Parker wouldn't get hurt. The Titans have an 11 year old boy on their team who is listed on the roster as 205 pounds. That is nearly 3 times the size of my baby. Please Mr. Center, don't smoosh my boy.
We had possession first, and kept getting first downs. With 2 minutes and 44 seconds left in the quarter, the other team had yet to have possession. We scored and starting the 2nd quarter the score was 8-0. In the second quarter, our offense fumbled and the Titans recovered to score so at half time we were tied 8-8. I was shocked at this point, thinking we might actually have a shot at a win.
(I think Parker is on the ground in that pile of kids. At least the Center is standing up and not piled on with them...)
But it turns out that holding them back for the whole first half took everything we had, and in the 2nd half the Titans scored, a lot.
Final score? 31-8.
It was our team's first year playing in the competitive division and they ended up doing really well. Parker had fun and made lots of new friends. Which is ultimately what makes Parker happy!
And since we have not had football practice all week, I still have 1/2 of a tank of gas left (I filled up last Thursday night)! Woo Hoo!

Zoey needs meals brought in.
Zoey took a trip to the SPCA the other day to get some low-cost vaccinations and to get spayed.
Day 2 she started licking her incision, so we had to use the cone...
She just stood there and wouldn't move when it was on. She wouldn't even lift her head up...
Until I lifted it up for her.
And she wouldn't walk anywhere, so I took her over and set her down to have nap. She stayed there all afternoon.
I like the cone!
Now that she has her shots, she can get a haircut and look like a schnauzer again.
The other day at SPCA, someone said, "Oh look, what a cute poodle."
How 'bout them UTES!?
How we "watched" the TCU vs. Utah game...
I believe that makes us 10-0....Undefeated!!!
A post only the grandma's can love...
We interrupt this blog to bring the grandma's and any other interested relative the latest school news. Anyone who is interested only in blogs that "keep it real" might want to skip this post, because I am a proud mother on the verge of shamelessly bragging about my kids.
It is the end of the first 9 weeks of school already! (Actually it ended on the 24th of October.) Football is coming to an end, Tyler's last practice was this morning (Wednesday) and his last game will be Thursday night in Gainesville. Yay! No more 7 am practices! Until Monday. That is when Basketball tryouts start...if he makes the team (they will have a green team and a white team for 7th grade, only about 20 kids and some stiff competition!) then it will be back to the 7 am practices, all winter long...Here is the Rogers Middle School Green Team picture:
We have gotten the middle school pictures, but not the elementary ones yet (watch for them in the mail in the next few weeks Mom and Oma.) Tyler is taking 4 pre-AP classes and got all A's and B's. We are really proud of him because he has a lot on his plate and he is such a great kid. Look how green his eyes look in this picture:
Parker's football may or may not be ending this weekend. We are in game two of the playoffs on Saturday, we won last Saturday, so we are looking to do it again and move on to the championship game the next week. I am kind of looking forward to not having football practice almost every night, but we have had fun and Parker has learned a lot in this first year of playing!
He got all A's and one B, his first B since getting here (he was kinda bummed), but he can't be perfect in every way! (wink wink)
He also got 100% attendance, which means not only no absences, but also no tardies.
Also at the awards assembly he recieved a Soaring Eagle award for "Accepting Others." I am so proud of him, this is one of his awesome talents...being kind to others. People are always telling me that "everyone likes Parker."
His reading has really taken off this year and he earned a place in the Principal's 100% Club for mastery and excellence in the Accelerated Reader program.

Aliza is doing so good in school this year. She also has been on time and at school every day.
And she made the A HONOR ROLL for the first time! Last year she was on the A/B Honor roll, but this last nine weeks she got ALL A'S!! Great Job!!! She is loving reading so much and her favorite series is "A-Z Mysteries." She has a great teacher who has really sparked an interest in learning. Way to go!
With the end of football, she will also be done with cheer leading. She has had a great time cheering for Parker's team.
